Military-Patriotic Camp at Stalin Line

Each day began with a formal parade and report. The children stayed in comfortable, fully equipped accommodation and received five meals a day.

 

 

Before lessons began, there was a gentle physical warm-up.

 

 

At Stalin Line, the children were introduced to the armoured train built here and shown how gas-shooting equipment works. The sessions were led by Anton Zaitsev, Head of the Mechanical Workshops, and Viktor Kartul, a gas-shooting specialist.

 

 

Sergei Zakharov, Head of the Stalin Line Weapons Workshop, told the children about the development of small arms and their use in warfare, and led practical sessions on handling them.

 

 

Reserve Colonel Dmitry Vovk and Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Ryabtsev introduced the children to the maintenance of combat vehicles at the complex. At the end of the session, they took them for a ride in a BMP-1.

 

 

Andrei Trusov, Deputy Head of the Tourism and Guided Tour Services Department, explained the purpose of the Stalin Line's Minsk Fortified Region and introduced the children to maps showing the fields of fire from its permanent firing positions (pillboxes). They then visited the pillboxes. At Artillery Half-Caponier APK No. 4, Andrei Trusov described the battle fought by its garrison in June 1941. He showed them the marks left on the concrete walls of APK No. 4 by German shells and bullets during the assault and demonstrated how a mine detector works.

 

 

At the complex, the children learned about the work carried out in the forge and visited an interactive exhibition devoted to the development of equipment and specialist devices used by law enforcement agencies in the Soviet Union and post-Soviet republics.

 

 

During practical sessions at various locations around Stalin Line, the children gave several interviews to Voen TV.

 

 

After the sessions, the children relaxed in the playgrounds at Stalin Line.

 

 

Each day ended around the evening campfire.
