The “Our Armoured Train” railway exhibition was officially opened at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex on 1 August.
The exhibition was opened following long and painstaking work by specialists from the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex, in partnership with Belarusian Railways, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus and Belavtodor.
A 270-metre railway line, complete with an operational set of points, has been built within the complex. It is home to a real armoured train comprising a steam locomotive and four armoured railway wagons. Locomotives of this type were first built in 1915 and remained in production for more than 20 years.
Restorers rebuilt an Em steam locomotive dating from 1933, recreated armoured railway wagons with gun turrets and produced Hiram Maxim machine guns that fire using a mixture of gas and oxygen. 
A railway bridge spanning a body of water and a pre-war passenger station were also built within the complex in time for the opening.
The official opening ceremony was attended by senior officials and representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Belarusian Railways, together with war and railway veterans and employees of the government bodies and enterprises involved in the project.
Visitors were treated to a military-historical reenactment of an early Great Patriotic War battle involving military railway troops.
Members of the “Soldiers of Victory”, “White Tower”, “Motorised Infantry” and “Epoch” military history clubs took part in the reenactment.
At the opening ceremony, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of railway workers who lost their lives during the Great Patriotic War 
and wreaths were laid at the memorial plaque mounted directly on the side of the armoured train.
