On 10–11 September 2016, the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex, with the support of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus and Wargaming, hosted a spectacular celebration of Tankers’ Day, marking the 70th anniversary of this professional military holiday and the centenary of tank building.
Visitors to the complex were greeted by a full-size replica of the Mark I, the world’s first tank, built by Wargaming:
A wide range of entertainment areas was set up for visitors:
Guests were entertained by cartoon characters, little green men and police officers:
This time, visitors to the complex could pose for free photographs in front of a festive banner wearing a tanker’s helmet and holding an AKS-74U assault rifle, a weapon designed specifically for armoured vehicle crews. Guests attended lessons at the tank school and took part in Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) competitions, with the winners receiving tank rides:
Like elephants and turtles supporting the earth, our T-10M tanks bore a large stage on their shoulders, where Easy Dizzy, «Khamil i Zmey» and Trubetskoy performed:
Three historical reenactments took place on 10–11 September. In addition to our tanks, they featured a T-34-85 medium tank, an IS-2 heavy tank and a BMP-2, brought to the complex by the Ministry of Defence. The highlight of the reenactments was the KV-1 heavy tank restored by our team. The Belarusian tank biathlon team also gave a demonstration featuring a T-72 tank.
