Border Guards Day Marked at Stalin Line on 30 May

On 30 May 2015, the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex hosted celebrations marking Border Guards Day.

The programme was opened by Alexander Mikhailovich Metla, Director of the “Memory of Afghanistan” Foundation, who congratulated everyone present on the occasion. This was followed by displays by the band and guard of honour company of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
At 13:00, a historical reenactment began at Stalin Line, depicting the battles to restore the USSR state border in 1944.
Afterwards, border guard dog handlers and their four-legged companions demonstrated their skills. This was followed by unarmed combat displays, an entertaining concert programme and light-aircraft flights.
The celebrations concluded with the “Caravan Hunt” reenactment, dedicated to special operations during the war in Afghanistan.

We present a photo report from the event.
