On 5 July 2015, the ninth International Operation Bagration Festival at Stalin Line featured a historical reenactment marking the liberation of Minsk from the German occupiers.
The spectacular performance, which lasted twice as long as usual, involved around 200 reenactors from Russia, Lithuania and Belarus. Mr Kazuharu Iwahashi, a businessman from Tokyo, fought alongside Red Army soldiers among the ranks of those who liberated Belarus.
The performance was memorable for its numerous attacks and counter-attacks, frequent changes of position, vivid explosions, hand-to-hand combat and Katyusha salvos.
