On 9 May, a two-part documentary from The Restorers series premiered on television. It follows the restoration of the Soviet Kliment Voroshilov heavy tank: “KV-1 Tank: The Beginning” and “KV-1 Tank.
Ready for Battle!”. The T24 television channel documented the entire restoration process, which gave the legendary fighting vehicle a new lease of life. According to Maksim Ushakov, producer of The Restorers project, the films were the result of a successful collaboration between the T24 television channel and the specialists of the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex in Belarus.
Over the course of six months, the T24 film crew closely followed the transformation of the KV-1. The experienced restorers did more than simply restore the tank: they brought it back to life. It is now no ordinary museum exhibit, but a fully fledged participant in historical reenactments. The restoration of the KV-1 was dedicated to tank ace Zinovy Kolobanov and all tank crews who defended our Motherland.
