On 5 August 2017, with the support of the Ministry of Defence, our complex hosted the international “Afghan Sky” Festival, dedicated to Paratroopers Day.
The day featured the unveiling of a BRDM-1 restored by our specialists from Zaslavl — Alexei Boiko, Yevgeny Bekesh and Sergei Opeikin. Visitors could have their photographs taken free of charge holding weapons in front of the vehicle.
Children and their parents enjoyed a performance by Motya the Clown and his charming assistants.
Visitors could have their photographs taken free of charge holding weapons in front of a festive banner and enjoy themselves in the Children’s Playground. Our visitors from neighbouring countries particularly appreciated a new free service: having their photographs taken in front of their national flags, displayed especially for them.
At 14:00, the Afghan War battle reenactment began.
Throughout the day, visitors could take part in Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) activities. The most active participants received commemorative souvenirs and a free tank ride.
