Visit by the Head of Belarusian Railway to Stalin Line

On 15 November 2014, the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex welcomed a delegation from Belarusian Railway headed by its chief, Vladimir Mikhailovich Morozov.

They were welcomed by our management team, headed by Alexander Mikhailovich Metla. The railway representatives were briefed on the current progress of the joint “Our Armoured Train” project. They saw how the steam locomotive recently handed over to the complex was gradually being given a new lease of life. Our restoration specialists pleasantly surprised the guests by demonstrating the running capabilities of... its tender! Such a thing is only possible at Stalin Line, the railway representatives joked.

The delegation then inspected the refurbished PT-33 armoured wagon. The insulated wagon, heated by a stove, is fitted with operational machine guns and a 107 mm gun. There are plans to open a new firing position here, where visitors will be able to knock out a German tank by firing the gun mounted in the armoured train’s turret!

After inspecting the armoured wagon, the delegation visited the Sovetskaya railway station building. There, the Head of Belarusian Railway outlined the prospects for further cooperation with the complex, including preparations next year for the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the German occupiers, followed by the 75th anniversary of Victory in 2020.
