The Second Patriot Obstacle Race Took Place on 6 April

The spring “Patriot” obstacle race took place on 6 April 2019

The race was organised by the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex with the support of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus.

The first “Patriot” race was held at the same venue on 9 February. The sporting event proved extremely popular and received such an enthusiastic response that the organisers decided to hold it regularly. The next “Patriot” obstacle races will take place on 13 July and 19 October 2019.

As in the first race, the participants gave it their all. With the snow gone, the course might have seemed easier. However, the organisers had made some changes to the route and added new obstacles. Once again, competitors had to push themselves to the limit to reach the finish. Some arrived with so much energy that they ran the race twice in different categories and reached the podium more than once. So, what was new at the “Patriot” race?

 

— The individual men’s and women’s races were divided into an elite race, in which every obstacle had to be completed and penalty burpees were not permitted, and age-group races: 18–29, 30–39 and 40+ for men, and 18–34 and 35+ for women

 

— A children’s race was added, with three age categories: 4–5, 6–8 and 9–12

 

— A team race was added, with at least three participants per team, including at least one participant of the opposite sex

 

— Winners in every race category were now taken to the awards ceremony aboard a tank

 

— New and exciting obstacles were added

 

Please note! The organisers announced that every participant who completes all four “Patriot” races during 2019 will receive a special prize: a “Patriot” trophy and a tank ride!
