On 12 July, the anniversary of the tank battle near Prokhorovka, our complex welcomed visitors from the town of Solnechnodolsk in Stavropol Territory, Russian Federation.
They were members of the Grom Cossack Military-Patriotic Club, named after Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Lavrentyevich Titenko. Andrei Lavrentyevich has now reached the age of 100! He was awarded the title of Hero for his actions on 18 March 1945. On that day, while commanding a 45 mm anti-tank gun crew, he broke into the fortified position at Preussisch Thierau. Cut off from his rifle units, Guards Sergeant Andrei Titenko organised an all-round defence and, together with his crew, repelled enemy counter-attacks for four hours.
