“Remembrance” Commemoration at Stalin Line

On the night of 21–22 June, Stalin Line hosted a commemoration marking the tragic beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

 

As the war began at 3:00 in the morning with the bombing of the Soviet naval base in Sevastopol, those taking part laid a wreath and lit memorial lamps at the Naval Brotherhood monument. 

 

This monument was erected at Stalin Line by Russians in honour of Belarusians who served in the Soviet Navy.

At 4:00 in the morning, a wreath was laid and memorial lamps were lit at Artillery Half-Caponier AP No. 134, the main attraction of the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex. 

 

At 5:00 in the morning, another wreath was laid at Artillery Caponier AP No. 06, which suffered particularly severe damage during the battles in the Stalin Line’s Minsk Fortified Region.

 

At 11:00, a commemorative gathering was held at the bust of Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union.

The “Remembrance” Commemoration concluded with a prayer for those who died in the Great Patriotic War, held in the chapel dedicated to the Holy and Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky.
