Akira Yamaoka is a Japanese composer and multi-instrumentalist who has written music for several Konami video games.
He is best known for his music for the Silent Hill series, for which he composed not only the entire musical score but also the sound effects for a number of popular tracks in the Bemani game series. During his visit to Belarus, he and a group of journalists visited our complex.
As the guests included not only Japanese visitors but also citizens of the United States and South Korea, Stalin Line Director Alexander Metla gave them a guided tour in English. Interpreter Natalia Vetik translated from English into Japanese. After the tour, Alexander invited the guests to fire a flare pistol and then took them to the shooting range. There they were able to fire deactivated weapons adapted for blank firing, as well as try their hand as anti-aircraft gunners, gun layers and tank crewmen — and even knock out a German tank!
The guests then enjoyed a tank ride and visited the hangar housing operational military vehicles. The visit concluded with lunch. Akira Yamaoka left a commemorative message in the distinguished visitors’ book.
