On 19 November 2016, Artillery Day was celebrated at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex. An artillery exhibition was open to visitors, featuring weapons ranging from the famous 45 mm gun to the Belarusian Grad and Smerch multiple-launch rocket systems.
Our visitors took an active part in Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) competitions. The winners received commemorative gifts and enjoyed tank rides.
A children's room was open for our youngest visitors that day, while journalists conducted interviews and visitors could have their photograph taken free of charge with small arms beside a special event banner. The famous German 20 mm FlaK 30 automatic anti-aircraft gun, recently restored by our specialists from Zaslavl, was also demonstrated.
At 14:00, an Imperial Army gun crew demonstrated its skill in handling a regimental gun and fired a round. This was followed by the “Battle of the Berezina” military-historical reenactment, featuring a range of artillery systems: a 122 mm howitzer, a 76 mm regimental gun, a 76 mm ZiS-3 divisional gun, a 57 mm ZiS-2 anti-tank gun, a 45 mm gun and a German 20 mm FlaK 30.
