Victory Day at Stalin Line

On 9 and 10 May 2024, Victory Day was celebrated at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex. The programme of celebrations began with a concert featuring several vocal and musical ensembles.

 

 

 

At 14:00, a reenactment of one of the battles of the Berlin Offensive began. 

 

 

Following the reenactment, clergy from the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Minsk held a memorial service in the Chapel of Alexander Nevsky for the soldiers who fell in battle during the Great Patriotic War, those tortured to death in concentration camps, those who died under occupation, the home-front workers who made the weapons that secured victory over Nazi Germany, and Sergei Ivanovich Mosin, designer of the three-line rifle.

 

 

Throughout 9 and 10 May, visitors eagerly took photographs with the reenactors and the Victory Banner.

 

 

During these two days, our complex welcomed visitors not only from Russia, Belarus and China, but also from Germany, Spain, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia. Among them was Iranian-born Amir Hossein and his charming wife, Viktoria. Amir filmed and edited several videos of our Great Patriotic War and Afghan War battle reenactments free of charge for the complex; these are shown throughout the year in the Stalin Line café. Viktoria also produced a video of a flight over our complex in a Mi-2 helicopter.
