Tankers’ Day at Stalin Line

On 7 September 2019, Tankers’ Day celebrations were held at Stalin Line with the support of the Ministry of Defence.

Photo areas were open from early morning, where visitors could have their photograph taken free of charge while holding the weapons of Victory.

At 11:00, the Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) competition area opened.

Before the reenactment began, visitors could climb aboard the T-72B3 tank that represented Belarus at the International Army Games Tank Biathlon in Alabino, visit the recently opened “Our Armoured Train” Exhibition, watch performances by entertainers, fire airsoft and blank-firing weapons, and even knock out a German tank from a Soviet tank!

At 14:00, a military-historical reenactment began, depicting the tank battle near Senno in July 1941.

The reenactment was followed by a demonstration by the crew of the T-72B3 that represented Belarus at the International Army Games Tank Biathlon in Alabino. Visitors from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Australia, Finland, Latvia, Moldova and China came to watch the Tankers’ Day celebrations. Radek Harashta and Kazuharo Iwahashi, reenactors from the Czech Republic and Japan, took part on the Red Army side. Guide Natalia Vetik brought a group of tourists from Pakistan. We welcomed them with the Pakistani flag. While photographs were being taken, they joined Natalia in greeting us with the words: “Welcome, Belarus!”
