20th Bagration Festival of Military-Historical Clubs: Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (Republic Day)

On 3 July 2026, the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex will host the 20th Bagration Festival, supported by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus and dedicated to the country’s principal national holiday — Independence Day (3 July).

As 3 July, the day Minsk was liberated, forms the basis of Belarus’s principal national holiday, Independence Day, visitors can look forward to a packed festive programme featuring guided tours and interactive zones, a dog-handling demonstration, a concert programme and a free Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) competition area, where the winners will receive a tank ride and commemorative prizes.

The culmination of the celebrations will be a large-scale military-historical reenactment dedicated to five courageous artillerymen awarded the Gold Star of Hero of the Soviet Union for the battle near Uzlyany: Guards Captain A. K. Leontik, Guards Sergeants D. L. Chepusov, Ye. G. Kurochkin and A. G. Chernyak, and Guards Junior Sergeant V. F. Tokarev.

Dear visitors!  To avoid congestion at the entrance to the complex, please purchase your tickets online and arrive 2–3 hours before the reenactment begins! Visitors with electronic tickets may park cars and minibuses FREE OF CHARGE, subject to availability!!!

On 3 July, bus route No. 948E, “Minsk — Stalin Line”, will operate for event visitors from 08:45 to 17:30.
A single bus fare ranges from 1 to 4.91 BYN, depending on the boarding and alighting stops. Children under 7 travel free of charge. Buses will run continuously along the following route: Kuntsevshchina Bus Station – Kamennaya Gorka Metro Station – Zhdanovichi Station – Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex.

Among all tickets purchased through the website, 10 tank ride certificates will be awarded in a prize draw. All tickets purchased before 20:00 on 2 July will be entered into the prize draw. The results, including the winning ticket numbers, will be posted on the VKontakte and Instagram social media accounts after 20:00 on 2 July. Each winner will receive a tank ride certificate by e-mail, sent to the address provided when purchasing the ticket.

The Service Dog Handler Training School was established on 24 January 1995 at the Smorgon Border Guard Training Detachment in the settlement of Devyatni, Smorgon District, Grodno Region. 

In October 1995, the Service Dog Handler Training School was relocated to the Smorgon Border Guard Detachment in the settlement of Gauti, Smorgon District, Grodno Region. 

In November 2002, the Service Dog Handler Training School was reorganised as the Canine Centre. 

The Canine Centre is now a training unit of the border guard service. It trains, retrains and provides advanced training for canine specialists, as well as training service dogs for a variety of duties, including tracking people by scent, sentry duties, specialised searches for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, weapons, ammunition and explosives, and guarding facilities. It also breeds and raises working dog breeds. 

Today, the Canine Centre of the border guard service is recognised as one of the best not only in the CIS, but also in Eastern Europe. 

The reenactment is dedicated to five courageous artillerymen of the battery, Heroes of the Soviet Union: Guards Captain A. K. Leontik, Guards Sergeants D. L. Chepusov, Ye. G. Kurochkin and A. G. Chernyak, and Guards Junior Sergeant V. F. Tokarev.

Please note: during the modern-day episode of the reenactment, three rounds are planned to be fired from a 152 mm 2A65 howitzer and one round from the 125 mm gun of a T-72 tank. Visitors are advised to bring hearing protection.

At the beginning of the battle reenactment, an episode depicting life in Belarus under German occupation will be presented, including the looting and extermination of civilians by the Germans and the partisan movement.

 

Operation Bagration will begin with Red Army units crossing the river and end with German forces being encircled in the Minsk Pocket. Soviet artillerymen played an important role in the encirclement of German forces near Minsk. The battle reenactment will therefore feature four mortars, two 76 mm guns towed by ZiS-5 lorries, and a 122 mm howitzer brought onto the battlefield by a Soviet STZ-5 artillery tractor recently restored at the complex. This reenactment will mark its combat debut.

 

The German attempt to break out of the Minsk Pocket will end in failure. Some will be killed by our tanks, armoured cars, guns and Red Army soldiers, while others will be taken prisoner.

 

The modern-day episode will feature a demonstration by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Visitors will see a reenactment of a battle against an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group, featuring FPV drones, two modern 152 mm 2A65 howitzers, a BTR-82, a BRDM-2, a T-72, a Mi-8 and troops clearing the area of the remaining members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group.

 

The reenactment will conclude with a joint parade of artillerymen, Red Army soldiers and members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, carrying the Victory Banner and the flag of Belarus.

The price is 40 BYN per person for both children and adults. Children aged 4 to 7 accompanied by an adult ride free of charge. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted.

All visitors who purchase a ticket for the event will receive a unique bonus code for the game “World of Tanks”.

    We recommend arriving early to avoid queues during peak visitor times.

    Yes, the complex is suitable for families.

    There is a children’s playground where children can enjoy active play in a safe environment.

    For the most active youngsters, there is also an interactive Ready for Labour and Defence (GTO) activity zone at Stalin Line.

    Please note, however, that reenactments and demonstrations involve extremely loud gunfire, explosions and operating military vehicles. This may cause severe stress to dogs and other animals.

    We ask owners to consider their pets’ sensitivity to loud noises and assess any potential risks to their health and behaviour in advance.
