On 20 August 2016, the KV-1 heavy tank was unveiled at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex.
The event marked the 75th anniversary of the feat of Zinovy Kolobanov’s crew, who knocked out 22 German tanks in a single engagement on 20 August 1941.
The presentation began with a press conference featuring Alexander Mikhailovich Metla and representatives of various organisations that had contributed to the reconstruction of the tank.
The speakers also included Kolobanov’s grandson, Andrei, who spoke about his grandfather.
This was followed by a short battle reenactment, during which the reconstructed KV-1 tank was presented to the audience.
The reconstructed KV-1 and the replica Panzer 38(t) can only be seen at Stalin Line on reenactment days. At all other times, both vehicles are kept in an area closed to visitors.
