Deactivated Weapons at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex

When the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex was established, it received around 200 deactivated German and Soviet small arms and approximately 50 weapons dating from the Afghan War. 

Although the weapons were classed as deactivated, they were in such poor condition that even firing blank ammunition could have caused injury.

Sergei Zakharov, head of the museum weapons and equipment repair team, devoted considerable effort to making the weapons safe to handle while ensuring that they could still convincingly simulate the operation of their historical counterparts during reenactments.
