Presentation of the STZ-5 at Stalin Line

On 22 June 2024, Stalin Line hosted the presentation of a pre-war STZ-5 artillery tractor recovered from a riverbed and restored at the complex.

Restored to working order, the tractor took part in a short reenactment of a battle from the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, towing a 122 mm M1910/30 howitzer and its ammunition limber.

After the battle reenactment, the STZ-5 proceeded to the main car park, where it stopped beside the “Memory of Afghanistan” Foundation sign for a commemorative photograph.

The Foundation’s Director, Alexander Mikhailovich Metla, held a press conference. Other speakers included Alexander Alexandrovich Metla, Executive Director of the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex; Mikhail Alexandrovich Metla, who led the recovery of the STZ-5; and those who contributed to the best of their ability to restoring the tractor. Alexander Mikhailovich concluded by answering questions from journalists.

Restorers Vladimir Yakushev, Alexander Mikalutsky, Maxim Yakushev and Alexei Yakushev were photographed beside the tractor they had restored.
