On 30 September 2023, a music video was filmed at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex for the song “Straight to Heaven” by the well-known Belarusian rock band SKYNET.
The song is dedicated to all Belarusian servicemen who fell in battle for our Motherland, including Afghan War veteran officer Anatoly Matyash.
Anatoly Fyodorovich Matyash with the rank of lieutenant
Captain Anatoly Fyodorovich Matyash performed his internationalist duty in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan in 1986. During a combat operation in the village of Khinabad, near Herat, on 9 September 1986, Captain Matyash was seriously wounded when a landmine exploded. He died aboard a helicopter while being evacuated to hospital. He received the military decorations of the Order of the Red Star and the Medal “For Battle Merit”. It should be noted that his son, Kirill Anatolyevich Matyash, portrayed the hero Anatoly Fyodorovich Matyash in the music video.
The music video was filmed by members of the “Shuravi” military-history reenactment group, led by Dmitry Kovalevsky, the “Valour” Club, led by Maxim Melyachenko, with the participation of SKYNET frontman Ivan Ponomarev.
