On Saturday, 27 April 2019, the Estonian choir Tuljak is scheduled to perform at the Stalin Line Historical and Cultural Complex.
The Tuljak mixed choir began its creative career on 5 October 1970. Since then, Tuljak has undertaken around 30 concert tours in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy and the countries of the South Caucasus.
Over the past ten years, Tuljak has released three audio CDs. In 2012, the choir took part in the Calellas competition in Spain, where it received two silver diplomas among 35 national choirs. In 2016, it competed at the Jazz Pop Festival in Viimsi, where it took second place. In 2018, Tuljak was one of the choirs selected to perform Urmas Sisask’s Pro Patria at the Estonia Concert Hall with the Police and Border Guard Orchestra.
Since autumn 2018, the choir has been conducted by Tiina Sooba, who holds a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Academy of Music and Theatre.
Tuljak currently has 32 singers.
